still cranky, blame the amoxicillin

Can we all please stop saying "that said," and "at the end of the day"? How on earth did these two phrases become SO FUCKING HACKNEYED?

Here, I'll show you:

I love blogging, but at the end of the day, it's really just a narcissistic half-assed hobby of mine. That said, I don't see any reason to stop.

Grrrrrr. I just want to punch my own lights out now for even typing that.

While we are at it can we also eradicate "to make a long story short..."? At the end of the day, it drives me nuts. ;-)

I nominate 'going forward'- how else can we go? we can't go backwards can we? don't you mean, 'in the future?' or 'from now on'? can't you say that for once? or better yet, just shut up, already...

Okay, my personal non-favourite is "the so-and-so's of the world", as in the people who are similar to so-and-so.

Example: The world would be so much better off if the Stephen Harpers and George Bushes of this world weren't in charge. ARGH!

Oh - my other one is "speaking to" a topic in a presentation rather than "speaking about".
